On June 1, the Highland Area Chamber of Commerce hosted Evening Under the Stars to raise money for local children and the business association. This week the chamber provided a check of over $1,300 to Friends of Santa Claus Inc., which supports the youth enrichment programs and critical assistance to Inland Empire children.
The chamber partnered with Friends of Santa Claus Inc. on its annual event where the chamber shares its funds raised with a local non-profit.
The chamber event, designed to spotlight local eateries and more, hosted tasting provided by Bear Springs Hotel Bistro, Brightwater Senior Living of Highland, Chef Tito, Escape Brewery, Falafel Express, Goodies By Sandy, Leopard Is A Pineapple, Little Black Glass, Rosa Maria’s Mexican Restaurant, Round Table Clubhouse and the Pines Modern Steakhouse of San Manuel Casino. The evening included music from two local performers, Highland musician, Andrew Sandoval, and Redlands music group, the Troy Clarke Trio, and comedy from Mr. JT Turner.
Funds were raised through tickets sales, raffles and auctions, plus sponsorships. Sponsors included Assemblyman James Ramos, East Valley Water District, Redlands Community Hospital, San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, Updog Media, Escape Brewery, Keller Williams Realty, Century 21 Realty and Little Black Glass.
Annually, the chamber, which is also a non-profit organization, selects a second non-profit as a partner to bring attention to their cause. Any local non-profit organizations, restaurants and entertainers interesting in participating in next year’s event should contact the chamber for more information.
