The Highland Area Chamber of Commerce recently announced its annual award recipients for work accomplished in 2019. These awardees will receive their recognitions during the chamber’s installation dinner on Thursday, Jan. 23, at the San Manuel Event Center at Bear Springs Hotel, 27923 Highland Ave.
Each year the chamber recognizes individuals and businesses for their contributions made to our community of Highland.
Business of the Year: San Bernardino International Airport
Citizen of the Year: The Radiant Rubies of Highland
President’s Award: Richard Haller
Ambassador of the Year: Gail Shelton, Coldwell Banker Kivett-Teeters
Home-based Business of the Year: Debbie Christiansen, Arbonne Independent Consultant
Creative Marketing Award: Bear Springs Hotel
Hospitality Award: East Valley Water District
City of Highland Employee of the Year: Lawrence Mainez
City of Highland Fire Fighter of the Year: Captain Tony Cerquettini
City of Highland Police Office of the Year: Deputy Shelly Ponce
In addition, the new board of directors for the chamber is officially installed.

“We invite anyone from the community to attend. This is a celebration and we enjoy seeing support from friends, colleagues and families,” said Chris Marin, president of the Chamber.
The dinner will be held on Jan. 23 at the San Manuel Event Center at Bear Springs. Seats are $60 per person and will be a delicious crispy crouton Rosemary chicken accompanied by a lump crab cake topped with béarnaise sauce. Sponsorships are now available as well as tables of eight and individual seats.
