Maintaining its commitment to fostering community involvement, East Valley Water District (EVWD) strives to present financial reports in an uncomplicated manner. In recognition of these efforts, the EVWD is being presented with the Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting Award by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its Fiscal Year 2017-18 Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR).

The informative report provides a summary of the financial data found in the district’s comprehensive annual financial report, and is evaluated by experienced outside reviewers on readability, information presented and overall presentation.

“As a public agency, we understand the great responsibility we have of providing reader-friendly information to the community. In addition to the annual budget, the PAFR is a great way for residents to learn more about District operations,” said Board Chairman Chris Carrillo. “It is an honor to receive this award for a second consecutive year.”

Recently, the district was also received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award and Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the GFOA.

“The district’s ongoing efforts to enhance how information is provided to the public ensures open communication with our community,” said John Mura, CEO and general manager. “It’s one of the many ways we seek to encourage and empower residents to learn more about the services provided to them.”
