On Tuesday, June 1, the Highland Planning Commission approved the design plan for a drive-through car wash to be built on a vacant property at 8054 Palm Ave.
The plan is to build the car wash on a 0.42-acre parcel on the west side of Palm south of Fifth Street that has been undeveloped since before the city’s incorporation in 1987. The property is owned by Ghulam Sarwar.
The 2,046-square-foot, fully automated car wash will be accompanied by nine self-service vacuum stations, including one for handicap drivers. There will also be two additional spaces solely for parking.
According to the project’s conditional use permit, there will be one attendant on site throughout the hours of operation.
