Welcome to the world!

Mother Ashley Rude, 23, of Redlands holds tiny Harper Lynn Sedevy, born at only 26 weeks at Loma Linda University Medical Center.

Cindy Sedevy is a happy grandma for the first time, celebrating the birth of Harper Lynn Sedevy, who weighed just 1 pound, 4 ounces at birth on March 28.

“It was touch-and-go for a while,” Cindy Sedevy said of the premature birth, coming only 26 weeks into the pregnancy. “She had pneumonia for a while, but seems to be doing well now.”

Mother Ashley Rude says she is happy with the baby’s progress, but the tiny newborn is only up to three pounds now and will have to stay in the premature ward at the hospital for a while.

Father Justin Sedevy has taken off work from his job in bridge construction to be with the mother and baby, but plans to return to work when the baby gets to go home.
