Highland’s “Old Iron Bridge”

Highland’s “Old Iron Bridge” crossing the Santa Ana River Wash on Greenspot Road gets some sun after a storm clears. November is National Historic Bridge Month. Highland’s bridge is one of three spans of a bridge built in 1912 crossing the Mojave River in Victorville. One span was relocated to Highland in 1933 where it served auto traffic for decades. In 2015, Greenspot Road was realigned for a safer curve and new bridge while the historic bridge was rehabilitated and refurbished as a foot and bike trail.
