Ballot box

A drop box for mail-in election ballots has been installed at Highland City Hall. It will be available for drop offs beginning Tuesday, Oct. 6. The ballot boxes employ multiple locking mechanisms and are bolted to concrete for security purposes.

The San Bernardino County Registrar announced a change in the city of Highland’s polling locations on Thursday, Oct. 16, replacing Immanuel Baptist Church with Cram Elementary School. Highland will still have four polling places and two mail-in ballot drop off locations.

In-person voting will begin at the four locations on Saturday, Oct. 31, and continue through Tuesday, Nov. 3. Voters are encouraged to vote by drop-off ballot or to vote early in order to reduce crowd sizes at polling places and observe coronavirus social distancing measures.

Hours for in-person voting will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 31 to Nov. 2 and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 3.

Highland’s polling locations are: Highland Family YMCA, 7793 Central Ave.; Highland City Council Chambers, 27215 Base Line; Cram Elementary, 29700 Water St.; and San Manuel Event Center, 27923 Highland Ave.

Ballot drop off boxes are at Highland City Hall, 27215 Base Line, and Highland Sam J. Racadio Library and Environmental Center, 7863 Central Ave., and they are now in use.
