Investigators released Mendoza’s booking photograph on Thursday, May 2, because they developed information that led them to believe Mendoza was involved in many thefts in various retail stores throughout Southern California.

San Bernardino County sheriff’s investigators identified Frank Mendoza, a documented gang member, as suspect in series of thefts from Lowe's Home Improvement.

According to a department press release, between July 2018 and January 2019, a Hispanic male entered the Lowe’s Home Improvement on Greenspot Road on multiple occasions, selected high-end cordless power tools and ran out without paying.

Through an investigation, Frank Mendoza, 47, of San Bernardino was identified as a suspect. Mendoza, a documented gang member, was arrested on an unrelated charge and was in custody.

At the conclusion of the interview and investigation, Mendoza was booked for grand theft on Wednesday, April 17.
