A man walking north on Waterman Avenue near Fourth Street was killed by a hit-and-run driver early Sunday morning, the California Highway Patrol reports.

A press release says the fatality occurred at 4:20 a.m.  in the unincorporated area of San Bernardino.  

“An unidentified male adult was located deceased on the sidewalk area just north of Waterman Avenue,” the release says. “Officers arrived on scene at 4:31 am, and were advised by San Bernardino Fire Department that the unidentified male adult was confirmed the victim succumbed to his injuries.”

Vehicle debris was found from the suspect vehicle on the roadway.

Identity of the deceased is being withheld pending identification and notification of the next of kin by the San Bernardino County coroner’s office.  This collision is still under investigation.
