Highland deputies responding to calls about a fight on the 7400 block o Elm Street arrested Deon Johnson, 21, of San Bernardino for being a felon in possession of a firearm on Thursday, Aug. 29.
According to a sheriff’s department press release, the deputies were responding to a fight in Highland involving numerous people on Thursday at about 8:20 p.m. Witnesses reported seeing some of the people carrying firearms. When deputies arrived, Deon Johnson ran from them, but was apprehended a short distance away. Johnson was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm with a large capacity magazine. Johnson is currently on parole for a residential burglary conviction out of Los Angeles County. Johnson was arrested and booked at Central Detention Center on the above charges and parole violation.
