A woman driving a motorcycle was killed early Sunday morning when she was struck by a car on Fifth Street near Cooley Drive in San Bernardino.

The California Highway Patrol reports that at 5:30 am, Christopher Villanueva, a 27-year-old San Bernardino resident, was driving his 2018 Toyota Camry east at 50 mph and made a left turn directly into the path of the 30-year-old San Bernardino resident on her Yamaha motorcycle.

She was killed instantly.

Villanueva initially left the scene but returned following the advice of family members.  Villanueva was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence causing bodily harm/death.

Identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin by the San Bernardino County coroner’s office.  This collision is still under investigation.
