The annual San Bernardino County Education Medal of Honor and Distinguished Service Award continue to seek nominations for this year’s recognitions. The deadline to submit entries has been extended to Feb. 25.

The awards acknowledge significant contributions to public education within public and private sectors.

County educators may nominate a colleague, business partner, dedicated volunteer or service group for the Medal of Honor. The program highlights the positive impact of surrounding communities on student achievement and wellness.

The annual Distinguished Service Award recognizes individuals for exceptional leadership and significant lifetime contributions to public education in the county.

County Superintendent Ted Alejandre said, “Schools depend on the support of our local communities so students can achieve and thrive. We want to honor those groups and individuals who transform lives through service and dedication.”

Nomination forms detailing submission criteria and additional information can be found on the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools’ website.

Completed entries must be emailed to Communications, communications@sbcss.net, by 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25.

In April, award recipients will be recognized during the spring meeting of the San Bernardino County School Boards Association. For more information about the program, please contact County Schools’ Communications office at (909) 386-2413.
