Buster Burris was born Feb. 5, 1926 in Ft. Collins, Col. His family then moved to San Bernardino. He attended San Bernardino schools. When he graduated, he immediately joined the Navy and after basic training went to the South Pacific. After being discharged, he met his wife Marilyn to whom he was married to for 73 years. They had two children, Ronald, who preceded him in death, and Kathryn, who resides in Highland.
Buster taught industrial and vocational auto shop for 20 years at San Bernardino High School. After that, he and Marilyn worked as a team investing in various businesses in the local area. Buster was at home in Highland when he peacefully passed on Monday, July 5, 2021, with his loved ones at his side. To honor a life well lived, a memorial service will take place on Wednesday, July 28, at 11 a.m., at the Elks Club, 2055 Elks Dr., San Bernardino.
