Daniel F. Gentry, born Sept. 27, 193, died June 5, 2021, and Alice M. Gentry born April 19, 1940, died March 12, 2021, were laid to rest on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at Riverside Memorial Cemetery.
Dan and Alice were members of the Highland community since 1961. Alice retired from AT&T phone company and went on to be an active community participant as the community driver for the Lighthouse for the Blind in San Bernardino.
Living out her last years in Las Vegas with her daughter and family, Alice was happy in the midst of her great-grandchildren.
Dan, after serving in the Navy, went on to work for a steel manufacturer Pacific Chromalox in Fontana then retired as a truck driver.
Dan loved his home in Highland and never left. Although he pursued travel all of his life, he was partial to the sea, taking many cruises to destinations from Hawaii to Iceland and many in between.
Dan and Alice saw much of the world together, and they will be very, very missed. Dan is preceded in death by his father and mother Ralls and Kathryn Gentry, his wife Alice Gentry and brother-in-law Jim travilion. Dan is survived by one daughter Valerie and her husband Mark Barnhart; four grandchildren, Danielle and husband Jesus Cardenas, Adam Barnhart, Kayleigh and husband Rudy Chacon, and Evelyn and husband Austin Kulinsky; and 10 great-grandchildren, Harlow, Monroe, Vincent, Titus, Willow, Rosalie, Lotus, Leonardo, Carson and Joaquin. Dan is also survived by his sister residing in Arizona, Joan Travilion.
