Dr. Keith Hart passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Friday, Dec. 13, 2019 at his home in Highland.
He was born July 12, 1930 in Visalia, Calif., to Forrest and Verna Hart and was an only child as well as a third generation Californian. While he was a teenager his family moved to Chino.
He received his B.S. Degree and a M.S. Degree in Animal Husbandry at U.C. Davis. Keith married his Chino High School sweetheart, Margaret Kramer in 1952. After a 2-year tour of duty with the U.S. Army, he returned to U.C. Davis and received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree.
He began his own practice in 1961 in Highland treating some large and mostly small animals for some 40 years. His community service included yearly Highland rabies vaccination clinics. He also was a long time Lions Club member, Boy Scout leader and other civic activities. He was honored by the city of Highland by having their dog park dedicated to him.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret, his children, David (Sherri), Jerry (Traci) Brian (Julie), Carol (Janard); grandchildren Jeremy (Tiffany), Patrick, David, Joseph, Christina, Jessica, Kaitlyn; great grandchildren Triniti and Jerni.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 27, at St. Adelaide Catholic Church, 24757 Base Line, Highland. Graveside services will be private at Riverside National Cemetery.
