Steven Scott Halter, 53, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019. Steve was a resident of Temple, Texas, where he lived for the past 10 years.
Born on July 21, 1966, Steve was the youngest of five children. Steve is survived by his parents, Harold and Joyce Halter; his three children, Danielle, Jessica and Sean Halter; his sister, Leslie White; his brothers, Michael (Alicia), Donald (Paulette) and David (Debbie) Halter; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
Prior to moving to Texas, Halter was a 41-year resident of Highland. He was an employee for the Santa Fe Railroad.
Family was very important to Steve. He was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, great-uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many people.
When you were around Steve, you knew you were in the presence of a truly generous and loving person. He loved to have fun and would be the first to jump at a chance to spend time with people he cared about.
Steve was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He loved football and supported the Steelers no matter what.
Although Steve will be dearly missed, God gained an angel and Steve’s kind spirit will live in the hearts of those who knew him forever.

A celebration of Steve’s life will take place at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, in Hewett-Arney Funeral Home, 14 W. Barton Ave., Temple, Texas.
