Dear editor:

First, I would like to thank Ms. Laguna who responded to my opinion regarding the statement made a few weeks back by the AFGE president, Mr. Kelly.

Getting feedback pro or con, is the best way to arrive at the truth. Regretfully, our country is in short supply of such desperately needed dialog and we only have to look at what happen recently in Louisville, Kent. where misinformation for political reasons created more chaos from a tragic death.

I sincerely thank you for pointing out exceptions to my examples. I agree there are always exceptions, but hopefully you did not miss my overall point.

The point I was trying to convey back on Sept. 6, was that the statement made by Mr. Kelly, in my opinion, was drafted to support the circus that was currently being performed by the U.S. House of Representatives, that the newly appointed postmaster general actions was not only responsible for delays in postal service but was somehow attempting to influence the outcome of the upcoming election.

Ms. Laguna, I agree with you that there are normally stringent checks in place to ensure ballots are legitimate. One such method is signature verification. Yet, there are a few states which are already taking steps to eliminate that security measure. Other states are considering it. Why?

The Virus? Leading doctors have already stated that going to the polls with certain precautions is safe. It seems logical that if one can go to the store, one can [go to the polls.]
