The Aquinas High track and field team participated in the CIF-SS Division 4 preliminaries on Saturday, June 5.

The Falcons’ Anthony Cooper had the 12th-best time in the 100, crossing the finish line in 11.30.

Aquinas’ Nicolas Ervin finished 10th in the shot put with a heave of 41-7.75.

On the girls’ side, Aquinas’ Sylicia Murguia placed 13th in the 800 in 2:31.

Also, the Falcons’ Janel Pido finished 11th in the triple jump with a mark of 32-2.50.

Blackhawks’ Noda no-hits Coachella Valley

Malie Noda pitched a no-hitter and struck out 12 as the Citrus Valley High softball team defeated Coachella Valley 4-0 in a CIF-SS Division 4 playoff game.

Anessa Jimenez went 2 for 2 at the plate and Mika Lee and Noda hit triples.

The victory improved Citrus Valley to 13-7. Coachella Valley finished the season with a 19-1 record.

Citrus Valley routs St. Margaret’s

The Citrus Valley High baseball team collected 17 hits to overwhelm St. Margaret’s 16-6 in a CIF-SS Division 5 playoff game.

Jared Snyder led the Blackhawks with three hits and four RBI, Riley Hunsaker had three hits, Matt Mecate two hits and two RBI and Josh Torres two hits and one RBI. Contributing one hit each were Jacob Horner, Devin Martinez, Ivan Rodriguez, Dane Lujan and David Perez.

Aquinas falls to Arcadia

The Aquinas High softball team lost to host Arcadia 4-3 in CIF-SS

Division 3 playoff action. The defeat ended the Falcons’ season.

Arcadia scored three runs in the first inning, but Aquinas tied the game with three runs in the second.

Arcadia pushed across the winning run in the bottom of the seventh.

Aquinas (15-3) outhit Arcadia 6-4.
