The Beaumont High boys’ basketball team split a pair of tournament games last week.

The Cougars defeated Moreno Valley 72-41, lost to Edison of Huntington Beach 64-51 and Summit of Fontana 55-47, and defeated Indio 72-61.

Against Moreno Valley, Isaiah Espinoza scored 27 points, Caden Stines contributed 12 points, and Noah Hartig had 12.

Espinoza scored 18 points to lead Beaumont (10-6) against Edison, Stines had 12, and Cooper eight.

Stines and Christopher Cooper led Beaumont against Summit with 11 points each and Espinoza had eight.

Stines led Beaumont against Indio with 20 points, Cooper and Stephen Morgan scored 13 apiece, and Espinoza had 11.

Lofty finish for Bulldogs

The University of Redlands football team finished among the Top 25 in the nation of two NCAA Division III polls by two outlets.

The Bulldogs were ranked No. 21 by the American Football Coaches’ Association and No. 4 by d3football.com.

The Bulldogs were unbeaten (6-0) in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Association and 8-2 overall.

Flores leads Aquinas

The Aquinas High soccer team defeated Loma Linda Academy 1-0 in the championship game of the Loma Linda Academy Holiday Tournament. Senior captain Tony Flores was selected as the defensive and tourney most valuable player.

Falcon girls win tourney

The Aquinas High girls’ soccer team defeated Loma Linda Academy 7-0 in the championship game of the Loma Linda Linda Academy Holiday Tournament.

T-Birds win three of four

The Yucaipa High girls’ basketball team won three of four tournament games last week.

The Thunderbirds defeated Rancho Cucamonga, Don Lugo of Chino 33-25, and Chino 58-47, and fell to Eisenhower of Rialto 58-38.

Yucaipa was 8-7 entering this week.
