Citrus Valley's Jared Snyder hits a double.

Citrus Valley High junior slugger Jared Snyder was named Player of the Year and Blackhawk coach Jon Austin Coach of the Year on the CIF-SS Division 5 baseball team.

Snyder hit .473 with two home runs and 33 RBI in helping Citrus Valley to its first section title.

Also making the All-CIF-SS D5 team from Citrus Valley were Blake Griffin and Riley Hunsaker.

Griffin hit .319 with one home run and 23 RBI. On the mound he went 6-0 with a 1.95 earned run average.

TAYLOR MAKES TEAM

Citrus Valley High’s Jacob Taylor made the All-CIF-SS Division 3A basketball team.

Taylor led the Blackhawks to the section semifinals, averaging 17.4 points per game.

BLACKHAWKS HONORED

Citrus Valley’s Ella Nadeau and Mika Lee made the All-CIF-SS Division 4 softball team.

The Stanford-bound Nadeau hit .582 with three home runs and 26 runs batted in. She was named Most Valuable Player of the Citrus Belt League.

Lee hit .438 with one home run and 18 RBI.

FALCONS HONORED

Aquinas High senior guard Sheldon Grant was named Player of the Year on the All-CIF-Southern Section Division 3AA basketball team and the Falcons’ David Johnson was picked as the Coach of the Year.

Grant averaged 16.1 points per game and 5.6 assists per game.

Another Aquinas senior, forward Nick Hopkins, was also selected for the team. Hopkins averaged 19.6 ppg and 7.6 rebounds per game.

BITONTI MAKES SQUAD

Aquinas High sophomore pitcher/shortstop Eric Bitonti made the All-CIF-SS Division 6 baseball team. Bitonti led the Falcons to an Ambassador League title and the section semifinals.

Bitonti hit .387 with four home runs and 27 runs batted in. He also went 9-2 on the mound with a 0.55 earned run average.

FLORES ALL-SECTION

Aquinas High junior goalkeeper George Flores made the All-CIF-SS Division 6 soccer team. He led the Falcons to an Ambassador League title.

TWO SPARTANS HONORED

Unieque Solis and Ariana Reyes of San Gorgonio made the All-CIF-SS Division 5 girls’ soccer team. Both are juniors.

MESTAS ALL-SECTION

San Gorgonio High senior pitcher/infielder Emily Mestas made the All-CIF-SS Division 5 team. She went 2-2 in the pitcher’s circle and hurled a no-hitter.
